Amarion (mostly known as Amari) is located 40km out of Rethymno and has more than 100 inhabitants, that work mostly with agriculture and livestock.
Amarion is a beautiful destination for nature-lovers and people who want to explore cretan tradition and culture. Also, the village organizes a festival with a variety of activities such as music events, marathons, group games for children during the summer. Its called Nefs Amari and is definitely worth a visit!
